March 3, 2016 What a great week in Haiti!
This year was pretty special as we are seeing many of our Haitian friends starting to lead others to make Haiti better. They all care so much about their country!
This year we took 65 laptops for students and school, 250 phones to help with communications, 25 solar lights, 300 soccer uniforms with cleats and soccer balls, clothes, toys, schools supplies and medicine.
We saw the nutrition program in action where we feed 100 children a day for under $35, a soccer tournament where we brought medals to give out with the kids being so proud they wore to school, and we visited many schools including a school for the handicapped. ….. And we heard about their dreams for a better life.
Our week in pictures.
Here is a big thank you for everyone who supported Haiti. THANKS!

36 cents. Think of what you can buy for 36 cents...not much right? Well those 36 cents can buy a hot meal for a child in rural Haiti. Friends of Haiti (Canada) is proud to be starting up a nutrition program for the children of Marbial, Haiti. We will be feeding over 100 children 3 times a week at just 36 cents per child, per meal. Please consider making a donation to help feed hungry kids.

Because of a lack of electricity, many people in Haiti rely on dangerous kerosene lamps for light. Not only are kerosene lamps a fire hazard, but chronic exposure to the vapours they emit can cause respiratory, skin, and lung issues. I am happy to say that I have been able to purchase 10 Nokero solar lights for distribution in Haiti. The lights cost around $30 CAD each and will make a huge difference in the lives of the people who receive them. Please consider making a donation to help people harness the power of solar light and get rid of dangerous kerosene lamps.

In September 2015 an education donation was made. With this we were able to buy ten books for Shakespeare English and Technology School. A few of the books are shown here:
