Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and ranks among the poorest countries of the developing world. Over 80% of the population is characterized as living below the poverty level. Today nearly a third of the population is considered food insecure; of these 600,000 need external food assistance to survive. Currently, one in every 5 children suffers from chronic malnutrition, while more than half of women and children suffer from anemia.
In the rural area of Marbial we support over 100 children to attend elementary school. We also have a nutrition program to give them their daily meal. This meal helps them grow and learn and costs about 30 cents per child. If you can help us with this cause please donate here.
